Empowerment is your natural state of being.  

Empowerment, [defined by the World Bank Group (interesting)], is the process of increasing the capacity of individuals or groups to make choices and to transform 
those choices into desired actions and outcomes

To access/activate your power, it's very important to be aware of the quality of your own energy. Deep breathing calms and stills the mind and refreshes the body.

*Attention: Remember, your attention is your rudder, it steers your boat.
~ When you truly want to experience something (fill in your blank) that has been elusive up until now, do you 
    really need to fall down or acquiesce to defeat even before you begin? 
~ Would it be in your best interest to become aware of tuning your attention* to your power, activating it?  

How? Using your breath, consciously, can be the gateway to attention toward new experiences.
Your attention to anything expands what you pay attention to. Your breath is a reflection of how you feel. By breathing longer, slower and deeper, you send a message to relax, to clear stress/negative energy,  to recharge. When you are aware of your own breath moving the energy within your physical body, you automatically activate the process of strengthening your attention. 

When you pay attention to your breath, you start noticing all the mind chatter (called the monkey-mind) and there's a lot of self-deprecation and frustration in the early stages until you learn to let the thoughts pass like clouds on a breezy day. Let go of your self-doubt and relax, just let the thoughts pass, bring your attention back to your breath as you inhale and exhale and let yourself be still.  Just a few moments in 'inner time' can be more rejuvenating than a two hour nap (and so much more efficient).  

Pay attention to the thoughts and feelings AS you imagine how the best version of what you want to live feels like. Keep going back to your breath as you notice what comes up... excitement, fear, whatever comes up. [Oh, did you know that the brain releases the same chemicals whether we feel anxious or excited?] Where do you feel what you feel in your body?  Is your stomach in knots or do you sense exciting butterflies? Is there tension in your forehead or neck and shoulders or do you feel relaxed and content? Use all your senses: visual (what you see in your mind's eye), auditory (what you hear), kinesthetic (what you feel/touch), olfactory (what you smell), and gustatory (what you taste)... in the Neuro-Linguistic vernacular, this makes up the acronym VAKOG.

Continue breathing with these feelings for more than 17 seconds, then continue thinking and feeling more of that. Breathe from the standpoint that you are the Mistress/Master of your universe, your reality, YOUR experience of the life you're living. As the Mistress/Master, YOU decide what you choose to experience, because you can, and only you can. Your inner state is reflected outwardly by the way you think, move, walk, speak and feel. It doesn't matter what you do, it matters what you allow. As long as you gather your energy with your intention, you transform those thoughts and actions into expressions of power in your outward experiences. This is the grace that flows through you at all times. Simply by being aware of it, breathing it in, activates it.

​The title of this article is Empowerment... for Desired Outcomes.  You imagine the outcome first, leaving room to discover what you're letting go, what you're filling in the space you just cleared for new to come and listening to the still (or image, or sensation, or color, or smell, or taste) to discover what inspires you forward. The status way of doing so we can have and then we'll be... well, that is just backward when we realize that creation begins at the level of thought and idea.

Breathe in the qualities that are waiting for you to enjoy... then breathe them outward and take that inspired step! 
Attend to your awareness of the energy in and around you. Intend to store and refine your energy by using your breath throughout your day, then live within that state. 

It's always up to each of us individually to qualify our own energy.
